Standalone mode

If your organisation doesn't use Spektrix, LineUp, or Ticketsolve, you can still use Karo as a conversational assistant. Standalone mode means Karo runs on your knowledge base alone — no ticketing integration required.

What standalone mode can do

  • Answer questions from your knowledge base (venue info, FAQs, policies, uploaded documents)
  • Respond in 10+ languages
  • Escalate to your box office team via human handoff
  • Act as a general-purpose assistant with whatever context you provide

What it can't do

Without a ticketing integration, Karo has no access to live event data or customer orders. It can't search your programme, look up bookings, or process refunds.

When standalone mode makes sense

  • You're trialling Karo before your ticketing system integration is ready
  • Your organisation runs events on a different system not yet supported by Karo
  • You want a conversational FAQ bot for a specific page or purpose, without ticketing functionality
  • You have an internal use case (staff onboarding, HR FAQs, etc.)

Setting up standalone mode

Standalone mode is simply Karo without a ticketing integration configured. Focus on building a thorough knowledge base — this is what Karo will draw from entirely.

Make sure the searchEvents and searchOrders features are disabled (your SynapTix contact will handle this if needed).
