Interface settings
Interface settings control how the Karo chat widget looks and what it says when visitors first open it. Go to Interface settings in the sidebar.
Visual customisation
Primary colour
The main brand colour used in the chat header and interactive elements. Enter a hex colour code — for example #ffc855.
Text colour
The colour used for chat messages and labels. This should have good contrast against the background for accessibility.
SynapTix will flag any colour combinations that may cause accessibility issues, but contrast is your responsibility to check. Tools like WebAIM Contrast Checker are helpful here.
Welcome and introduction
Welcome message
The first message the agent sends when a visitor opens the chat. Keep it short and inviting. Good examples:
- "Hi, I'm Frank — happy to help with tickets, venue questions, or anything else."
- "Hello! What can I help you with today?"
Intro text
Optional secondary text shown beneath the welcome message. A good place to set context — "I can help you find events, look up your booking, or answer questions about our venue."
Launcher message
The small prompt shown above the chat launcher button (the button that opens the widget). Something like "Chat with us" or "Ask Frank".
Suggested prompts
Up to three suggested prompts displayed to visitors when they first open the chat. These help visitors understand what Karo can do and give them a quick way to start a conversation.
Good examples:
- "What's on this weekend?"
- "Help me find my booking"
- "What are the accessibility options?"
You can set a maximum of three prompts.
Privacy policy URL
A link to your privacy policy, shown in the chat widget. Defaults to the SynapTix privacy policy if not set. We recommend pointing this to your own venue's policy.
Domain root
The domain where the widget is hosted. Used for cookie configuration to ensure session management works correctly.
