Tasks
The tasks page is your human handoff queue. Every time a visitor asks Karo to contact a human, or Karo determines that a conversation needs staff attention, a task is created. Go to Tasks in the sidebar.
What triggers a task
A task is created when the human handoff feature is triggered — either because the visitor explicitly asked to speak to someone, or because Karo couldn't help and offered to pass the conversation on.
What happens when a task is created
Two emails are sent automatically:
To your box office team — an email with the subject "New Karo Task for [your app name]" containing:
- The visitor's email address
- The visitor's message
- A summary of the conversation so far, written by Karo
- A suggested next action
- A direct link to the task in the dashboard
To the visitor — an email confirming their message has been received, with the subject "Your message to [your app name] has been submitted."
Your team can then reply to the visitor directly from their inbox. There's no need to log in to the dashboard to respond, though the dashboard task record gives you the full conversation context if it's helpful.
Viewing tasks
Each task in the list shows the visitor's email, the message they sent, the date it was created, and a link to the original conversation. Click a task to open the full detail view, including the conversation transcript.
Notification settings
Make sure your team's email address is set up in Team settings to receive task notifications. Check with your SynapTix contact if notifications aren't arriving.
